Summary

Thurrock Power is one of the UK’s largest flexible generation and battery storage projects, recognised as a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). Located near Tilbury in Essex, the scheme combines a 600 MW gas-fired generation facility with a 600 MWh battery energy storage system, supporting the UK’s energy resilience and grid stability.

PrimaVision provided programme support across the precast and structural delivery scope, delivering fully remote planning, sequencing, and control services. Our role ensured programme alignment with site logistics, cross-disciplinary milestones, and commercial obligations, enabling timely delivery within a highly complex live industrial environment.

PrimaVision’s Role

Acting as an extension of the project’s planning function, PrimaVision delivered structured programme outputs and foresight to support critical delivery phases. Our contribution included:

  • Development of detailed precast and structural element programmes

  • Integration of logistics, pour dates, and curing requirements into live sequencing

  • Coordination with civil, MEP, and commissioning milestones

  • Regular programme updates aligned with site constraints and safety adjustments

  • NEC-compliant outputs and digital collaboration tools for clear stakeholder alignment

 

Results & Impact

Accurate Delivery Planning – Structured programmes supported timely installation of critical components for both generation and battery phases, avoiding rework and congestion.

Flexible Response to Site Events – Rapid programme updates enabled re-sequencing after unplanned incidents, mitigating project-wide delay risk.

Improved Coordination – Planning outputs enhanced visibility across contractor and client teams, supporting proactive risk avoidance and safer delivery.
